CENTRA is currently seeking talented, enthusiastic, and dynamic individuals to support DARPA in formulating, monitoring, and transitioning advanced research and development programs to the U.S. military. The Arlington, Virginia office currently has positions available for engineers and scientists to support cutting-edge, advanced sensors, high energy laser, laser communications, adaptive optics, optical integration, and weapons system programs within DARPA. Technical and management responsibilities may include:
• Providing technical support and subject matter expertise in monitoring the execution of advanced technology development and demonstration programs
• Performing independent technical assessments and feasibility analyses of new technologies and system designs
• Attending, monitoring, and reporting on system field testing and demonstrations
• Supporting technical interchange meetings and design reviews
• Developing and running simulation models
• Identifying and implementing new program concepts
• Providing program management and acquisition support
• Authoring program status briefings and technical reports
Candidates will work closely with DARPA Program Managers as well as high level personnel throughout the government and industry research and development communities. Applicants must be technically strong and possess superior oral and written communications skills. Candidates should be self-starters capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Travel is required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and have the ability to obtain a security clearance. All open positions require a minimum of a B.S. in an Engineering or Science field. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years, or a master’s degree and at least 2 years of defense related experience are preferred . However, CENTRA will consider well qualified junior level candidates with at least 2 years experience in the defense industry.
